The effect of therapeutic intervention on the functionality of ankle joint in long jumpers
ZÁHOROVÁ, Adéla
This bachelor's thesis deals with the effect of therapeutic intervention on the functionality of the ankle joint in long jumpers. The work consists of two parts - theoretical and practical. The theoretical part first describes the anatomy of the ankle joint and the description of the myofascial structures of the ankle joint. Furthermore, the biomechanics of ankle joint movement are summarized here, and then the long jump itself and the training process of jumpers are described. At the end of the theoretical part, the concept of Movement Assessment Technologies (M.A.T), which was used for functional testing, is described. The practical part consists of qualitative type research. The research group consisted of 3 probands aged 18-22, who already specialize exclusively in the long jump. Therapies took place individually for two months at regular intervals. All probands completed their regular training schedule without restriction during the study. I used the technique of interview, aspect, palpation and testing to obtain data. The objectives of the work were twofold. The first goal was to propose a physiotherapeutic procedure suitable for improving the functionality of the ankle joint in long jumpers. The second goal was the proposal to implement the suggested physiotherapy of the ankle joint into the athlete's training process. Based on the results, it can be concluded that the goals of the bachelor's thesis were met. I proved that the proposed therapy is suitable for improving the function of the ankle joint and it is realistic to add it to the training process of an athlete.
The acute effect of percusive therapy on postural stability and muscle activation in people with chronic ankle instability and controls
Michal, Lukáš ; Hank, Mikuláš (advisor) ; Šorfová, Monika (referee)
F2 = 0.15; with a significance level of α = 0.05 and a test power of β = - - (p=0.014) CAI NO PRE (CNP) and HEALTHY YES POST (HYPO) and between the CAI NO POST (CNPO) vs. HYPO (p=0.05). The only statistical difference (p=0.045) within CAI group was found in CNP vs. CAI YES POST (CYPO). Since there was no significant difference in the pre-tests between any of the groups (CNP and CYP), we may confirm the hypothesis of the effect of PT in postural stability (OE) test. In contrast, in the CE test, this change was observed between groups CNPO and CYPO (p=0.05). Since there was no pre-test difference between the CAI groups in CE parameter, we may also confirm the effect of PT in CE test, even though the intragroup outcomes between pre and post-test weren't sensitive enough to find significant (p<0.05) improvement. Unilateral postural stability surveyed in relation to PT showed increased bilateral asymmetry between DOM and NON in Flamingo test (expressed as %). Especially HYPO group revealed risen asymmetry after PT when compared to CNPO (p=0.007), CNP (p=0.015) and CYPO (p=0.05). Key finding was measured significant difference in intragroup parameter between HYP vs. HYPO (p=0.014), which confirmed increased bilateral asymmetry in unilateral postural stability HEALTHY subjects before and after use of PT, but not...

Navrátilová, Monika ; Plevová, Kristýna (advisor) ; Jeníček, Jakub (referee)
Title: Use of Mulligan Mobilization Techniques in Patients with Distortion of Ankle Joint Abstract: This bachelor thesis deals with distortion of ankle joint and Mulligan Concept application issues. The main purpose of the thesis is to use the Mobilizations with Movement techniques (hereinafter referred to as MWM) in patients who suffered ankle joint sprain. With the thesis being divided into theoretical and practical parts, the former one presents the issue of ankle joint using anatomic point of view and kinesiology viewpoint. The following chapter deals with ankle joint distortion with regards to its most frequent cause, a risk of development of CAI (chronic ankle instability), appropriate treatment and physiotherapy. At the end of theoretical part is presented Brian Mulligan and his concept. The practical parts consists of casuistry on two themes. Both of them include initial examination, therapy goals definition, description of physiotherapy intervention and final examination. In order to be able to assess therapy results, the author chooses the Knee to Wall Test and Two-scale-stand Test methods as parts of both initial and final examination. In addition, the author compares initial and final values of ankle joint locomotion extent goniometric gauging, lower limbs girth anthropometric gauging, pain...

Ankle Stabilization of Hurdle Athletes as a Prevention of Injury
FAROVÁ, Michaela
This thesis is about Ankle Stabilization of Hurdle Athletes as a Prevention of Injury which are typical for this discipline. The aim of this work is to create an exercise and physiotherapy protocol focused on stabilization of ankle joint in purppose to prevent the most common injuries of hurdle athletes and comparing the stability of rebound and non-rebound lower limb. In the first part of the thesis, I present theoretical knowledge that provides the basis for the research part. This part summarizes general information about anatomy, postural stability, terminology associated with the posture and stabilization, the function of the ankle joint and the foot, the most common injuries of the ankle joint caused by hurdling, and the possibilities of physiotherapy interventons, which could be used to decrease a risk of causes of the mentioned injuries. In the practical part, research reports of 5 probands who have been involved in athletics for several years and in recent years they have specialized in short tracks - 60 m, 100 m and 110 m hurdles. Posturographic messuarement objectively assessing postural stability - Modified CTSIB, Stability Evaluation Test and Weight Bearing Test. One of the aims of this research is to set and implement an intervention to influence stability of the joing by influencing proprioception, muscle strength, mobilization, soft tissue treatment and othrers. and overall body posture. The results are shown as positive, when there was a reduction in the initial values Sway Velocity (deg/sec). Proband has in average lower values of Sway Velocity in five tests from seven. The same results were shown in average in one test from seven and worst results had proband in average in two from seven tests. Lower values of SV indicate an improvement in postural stability. Unfortunately the number of proband in this research was changed and the number for average values are counted with number of three probands.
Analysis and prevention of ancle joints injuries in artistic gymnastics
VOBOŘILOVÁ, Dita
This bachelor thesis is about the most common injuries of ankle joint of the foot in women artistic gymnastics. This theses is focussed on the area of ankle joint, importance of foot arch and following ankle injuries of young gymnasts. It appears to be a common phenomenon and it could be a limiting factor of gymnasts performance. The main aim of this thesis is to create a physiotherapy exercise plan for stability of the ankle joint and coordination of movement. Those excercises shlould decrease muscle dysbalances, improve the stability of joints and in the meanwhile help to reduce the amount of ankle injuries. It should also show how often these gymnasts have injuries and what could possibly be the cause. This bachelor thesis is devided into theoretical and practical part. In the theorectical part, there is briefly described history of gymnastics and its development. After that there is a chapter about disciplines of women artistic gymnastics. Next chapters contains most common injurie, describtion of muscle dysbalances and hypermobility. Next chapter is focused on prevention of these injuries and some principles, which are important for reduction of these unnecessary problems connected with chronic overloading and injuries. Practical part of this thesis contains methodology, which was used for processing individual case reports. I had 5 artistic gymnasts, who train on the high competition level. The data where obtained by kinesiological examination, including special testing and examination on posturograph and pedoscope. The key physiotherapy method was somatosenzory stimulation method, exercises for deep mucle stabilitation system and balance aids. I suggested compensatory and stabilisation exercices and created a therapy brochure for gymnasts. After three months the final examination was performed, which is included in results. This bachelor thesis can be used for trainers, sportsmen, but also physiotherapists struggling with this issue.
